A Snippet 2021 from SCG

Happy New Year from the SCG Team!

We are pleased to begin welcoming back our team to the SCG office in Ivanhoe, Melbourne. Our return-to-office strategy will be to focus heavily on working under COVID controls. Masks, social distancing, visitor registration at workplaces and hygiene controls still require our attention as an employer to minimise any potential risks for our employees and our clients. Take care, think of others and stay COVID safe!

With the year already well underway, we are excited to share some snippets of what 2021 will hold for SCG.

Creating opportunities for Graduates
(Graduate jobs/internships with SCG)

The selection of graduates in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering is underway again in 2021 with shortlisted graduates being interviewed and we expect appointments to lead to full time employment by early February.

SCG has a proud record of employing local and foreign country students and graduates over the past 9 years and now that Covid restrictions have relaxed and office attendance is slowly returning we look forward to welcoming the new graduates.

Upcoming Developments Industry 4.0

Hello to Industry 4.0 - with our entry into the world of scanning and validating parts, designs and concepts for Defence and Transport applications. SCG implemented an Engineering Development Plan in 2020, to train our engineers in 3D scanning, 3D printing, and establish QMS and 3D Experience links. SCG has added product development, reverse engineering and validation of parts properties and materials to our portfolio of professional services.

Investing in our People

Congratulations to our staff who completed professional development courses in 2020 under SCG’s Training Program. Suzie Stipanic, our Human Resource Manager has completed her two-year VCCI HR Management Course. Raymond Amos, a Mechanical Engineer recently completed his Project Management Diploma at RMIT. This takes the total to 9 SCG staff who have benefitted from our commitment to training. We look forward to increasing this number, as another two engineers enrol into Project Management Training programs in 2021 with more to come. We wish them luck!

Forming New Partnerships

We are working towards forming exciting new partnerships with like-minded organisations which will provide an expansion to our current capabilities and services. We hope to have more to say on this in the near future!
