Queensland Rail’s overhaul scope of works includes 180+ modifications across 14 design packages, heavy maintenance activities and vehicle refresh for the entire 64-set fleet as part of its 16 year overhaul.

SCG were engaged to support Downer (in both Brisbane and Maryborough in Queensland), with the engineering design of modifications to the Lighting and Brakes & Pneumatics subsystems.

The modifications include scope such as upgrades to LED technology, provision of active dimming control for the saloon lighting and the provision of capacitive sand level sensors.

SCG has supported Downer (and Queensland Rail via the Rail Fusion Alliance) with modification design engineering for the System Definition, Preliminary Design, Detailed Design and As-built phases as part of the Engineering design process.
